This will guide you through adding several types of objects to a specific collection within a repository. In this example, we will add an Audio file and upload a thumbnail to a collection. You can follow this workflow to add each of these types of objects:
- Single images
- Audio
- Video files
- Binary (any other single file)
Step 1
Login to your repository and navigate to the collection the object will belong to and click the Manage tab.
Step 2
Choose Add an Object to this Collection.
Step 3
Select the content model you would like to ingest from the drop down and click Next. In our example this is the Islandora Audio Content Model.
Step 4
You don’t have a MARCXML file so choose Next.
Step 5
The metadata form will display. If more than one form is associated with the Content Model you are ingesting, you may need to choose which form to use. Complete required fields and other fields as needed and click Next.
Step 6
Browse to locate your file, in this case a mp3, and then click Upload.
Step 7
To add a thumbnail that isn’t the default, check Upload Thumbnail and add the file and click Ingest.
Your Audio file and thumbnail is now uploaded and viewable and downloadable within the Collection!
